This weekend, Karl Steinkamp, the Director of Dalat International School in Penang, Malaysia, will be speaking at Covenant Fellowship Church’s Sunday Service. Afterwards, there will be a coffee house with him from 3-5pm at TCBC. Dalat International School was established in 1929 and is a leader in international education. Currently Dalat International School provides an American, college preparatory, Christian-integrated education for over 420 students from 25 nations that range from preschool to grade 12. The coffee house will be a great time especially for those interested in education or who want to see what God is doing through an International School such as Dalat. Come join us this weekend!
Biography on Karl Steinkamp
Karl Steinkamp is the Director of Dalat International School in Penang, Malaysia. He is an alumnus of Dalat and was a teacher and high school principal at the school before taking over the role of director. Prior to Dalat, Karl worked for five years as a technology coordinator at Escola Graduada de Sao Paulo, a large American international school in Sao Paulo, Brazil. While in Brazil he helped develop the schools involvement and partnership with the Virtual High School (VHS) program. Through this partnership with VHS Karl created and developed one of the first online media literacy courses for high school students. The course is still offered through VHS ten years later.
Karl grew up as an MK (missionary kid) and lived in Vietnam, Australia, and Malaysia. He is married to Jacki who is also an MK from Brazil. They have three kids, Josiah (8th grade), Karissa (6th grade) and Mikaela (3rd grade).
Karl earned his undergraduate degree from Crown College in St. Paul, Minnesota and obtained his Master¹s degree in K-12 administration from Capella University.
